What is Intelligent document processing (IDP)?
Intelligent document processing, IDP, uses AI to read documents such as invoices, contracts, forms and delivery notes, extract the fields that matter, validate them against other data and pass them into your systems. It replaces manual data entry and handles varying layouts that fixed templates cannot.

Accuracy and the review step
Field-level accuracy on clean invoices is above 98% with current models. The remaining cases are caught by validation rules, such as totals that do not add up or unknown suppliers, and sent to a person with the document and the extracted values side by side.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with scanned or photographed documents?
Yes. Modern models read images directly, including phone photos of receipts, though sharper scans give higher accuracy.
